Water where it shouldn’t be?

A local plumber at your door in about an hour, day or night. We tell you the price before we touch anything.

  • ~1 hr typical arrival
  • €95 day call-out
  • 1 year guarantee
First Water pouring? Turn off your stopcock.
A drawing of a stopcock on a copper pipe, with water pouring from the pipe's open end.

Drag or tap the wheel clockwise. It’s usually under the kitchen sink, or where the water pipe comes into the house.

01 · Right now

What’s happened?

Pick the closest. We’ll tell you what to do before we arrive, and what it usually costs.

Burst pipe or water pouring in

Do this now

  1. Turn off the stopcock, clockwise until it stops. It’s usually under the kitchen sink.
  2. Water near lights or sockets? Switch off the electricity at the fuse board. Don’t touch wet switches.
  3. Open the cold taps to drain what’s left in the pipes, and catch drips with towels and basins.

A leak or a drip that won’t stop

Do this now

  1. Look for a small valve on the pipe feeding the leak. A quarter turn with a flat screwdriver isolates it.
  2. No valve? Turn off the stopcock, and put a basin under the drip.
  3. Take a photo. Send it with a quote request and we can often price it before we come out.

No heating or no hot water

Do this now

  1. Smell gas? Don’t touch switches. Open the windows, leave the house and ring the gas emergency line from outside.
  2. Note the error code on the boiler’s display. It tells us which part to bring.
  3. Check the obvious: oil in the tank, credit on a pay-as-you-go meter, the timer and thermostat. Try one reset, not five.

Blocked drain, sink or toilet

Do this now

  1. Stop using the taps, shower and toilet that drain into it, so it doesn’t back up further.
  2. Skip the drain cleaner. The strong stuff can damage older pipes, and it’s dangerous to work around.
  3. Check outside: if the gully by the back door is full too, tell us when you ring. It points to the main drain.

Boiler service (gas or oil)

Good to know

  1. Once a year keeps the warranty valid and catches small faults before the first cold snap.
  2. Landlords: you get a service certificate on the day, emailed to you and your tenant.
  3. About an hour. We book a two-hour window and text you when we’re on the way.

Something else

We also do

  • New radiators and moving radiators
  • Hot water cylinders and immersions
  • Showers, pumps and low pressure
  • Bathroom refits, start to finish
  • Outside taps and frozen pipes
  • Boiler replacements, gas and oil

02 · Prices up front

No surprises on the bill.

These are our real prices, VAT included. Parts are extra, and we price them before we fit them. If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the labour.

03 · What happens when you ring

Four steps. No guesswork.

  1. A person answers

Day or night, you talk to us, not a call centre. Tell us what’s happening and where.

  2. You get a text

The name of who’s coming and when they’ll arrive, so you’re not waiting by the window.

  3. Price before we start

We look, we tell you what it is and what it costs. Nothing happens until you say yes.

  4. Fixed and tidied

Pay by card or bank transfer on the day. The receipt and guarantee arrive by email.

04 · Who turns up

Two vans. Two plumbers. Both local.

Dunnock is Ciarán and Aoife, with Ciarán’s mother Bríd on the phones. We live in the area we cover, which is why we can usually be with you inside the hour.

  • Registered gas installer and oil boiler technician
  • Fully insured, with every job guaranteed for 12 months
  • Shoe covers and dust sheets, every time
  • Common parts carried in the van, so most jobs are done in one visit

Names and people are fictional, as part of this concept site.

05 · Where we cover

06 · What customers say

“Here in forty minutes.”

Example reviews: fictional, to show how real ones would appear

Pipe went in the attic at half eleven on a Sunday. Bríd answered on the second ring, Ciarán was here in forty minutes and the ceiling was saved.

Niamh, Castleknock

Gave me the price at the door and that’s exactly what I paid. Boiler’s been perfect since.

Declan, Lucan

I manage six rentals. They do all the boiler services and the certs land in my inbox the same day. Never have to chase them.

Sinéad, Clonsilla

07 · Not an emergency?

Get a fixed quote.

Tell us what needs doing. Add a photo if you can, because it often means we can price it without a visit. We reply the same day, Monday to Saturday.

Questions people ask

Do you really come out at night?

Yes. The phone is answered all night, and one of us is always on call. Night call-outs are €185 for the call-out and first 30 minutes, and we tell you that before we set off.

Will you tell me the price before you start?

Always. We look at the job, tell you the price, and only start when you say yes. If it turns out to be bigger than it looked, we stop and tell you before going further.

What if you can’t fix it on the day?

If we need a part we don’t carry, we make it safe, order the part and come back. You don’t pay a second call-out. If we can’t fix it at all, you don’t pay for the labour.

Do you work on oil boilers?

Yes, gas and oil. Services, repairs and replacements.

How can I pay?

Card on the day, or bank transfer. You get a receipt and the guarantee by email.

Do you do bigger jobs, like bathrooms?

Yes. Send us a quote request with a few photos and we’ll come and measure up. Bathroom refits get a fixed price in writing, and a start date before you pay anything.
