Physiotherapy in Galway · No GP referral needed

Let’s get you moving again.

Whether it’s a dodgy knee, a stiff back or the same old hamstring, you’ll get a clear answer, a plan you can follow, and someone who’ll listen first.

Where does it hurt?

Tap the sore spot. We’ve probably seen it this week.

Pick a spot on the body

We’ll tell you what we often see there, what tends to help, and how it usually goes.

This is a guide, not a diagnosis. We’ll check properly when we see you.

How recovery usually goes

  1. Today

Stairs are a chore, and you’ve stopped doing the things you like.

  2. First visit

We find out what’s really going on, and you leave knowing what to do.

  3. A few weeks in

Your exercises get easier. You trust the leg again.

  4. Back at it

Training, hill walks, chasing the kids. Whatever “back to normal” means to you.

An example. Everyone’s body and timeline is different, and we’ll be honest about yours.

Your first visit

Nothing to dread. Forty-five minutes, and a plan.

A physiotherapist’s hands assessing a patient’s knee in a bright, calm treatment room.
  1. We listen

What happened, what makes it worse, and what you want to get back to.

  2. We look

We watch how you move and check what’s stiff, weak or sore.

  3. We explain

In plain English, with what we think is going on and what to expect.

  4. We start

Hands-on treatment if it’ll help, and a few exercises sent to your phone.

Prices

What it costs, up front.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book straight in. If we think you should see your GP, we’ll tell you.

Will my health insurance cover it?

Many Irish health plans pay back part of each visit. Check yours, and we’ll give you a receipt to claim with.

What should I wear?

Something you can move in. For a knee, bring shorts. For a shoulder, a vest top.

How many visits will I need?

It depends, so we won’t guess here. We’ll give you an honest estimate at your first visit and tell you when you no longer need us.

When should I not wait for physio?

If you have severe pain after an accident, numbness around the groin, trouble passing urine, chest pain or sudden weakness, contact your GP or emergency department straight away.
