Privacy policy
We only collect what we need to reply to you. We don't use cookies, tracking or advertising on this site, and we never sell your details.
Who we are
Loopfound is a website design business based in Dublin, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything on this page at alan@loopfound.com.
What we collect
- Your enquiry. When you use our form, we receive your name, your email address and your answer about what you need. We also receive anything you choose to add: your business name, your current website and your message.
- Emails. If you write to us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you send.
- Technical data. Like any website, ours runs on a server that receives your IP address and basic browser details when you visit. Our hosting provider handles this to deliver the site and keep it secure.
The load speed shown on our pages is measured in your own browser and isn't sent to us. The forms on our portfolio concept sites are demonstrations, and anything you enter there isn't sent to us or anyone else.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and take steps you've asked for before any agreement, such as preparing a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To keep our site working and secure, and to keep a sensible record of our business conversations. The legal basis is our legitimate interests in running the business safely.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records if you become a client.
We won't add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing. You don't have to give us your details, but we need a name and an email address to reply to the form.
Who handles it for us
We use a small number of service providers, who handle your data on our behalf:
- Vercel hosts this website.
- Web3Forms receives our form submissions and delivers them to us by email.
- Zoho Mail provides our email.
Some of these providers operate outside the European Economic Area, so your data may be processed elsewhere, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer must be covered by a recognised safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We may also share data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Client records: for as long as we work together, then for six years to meet tax and legal requirements.
- Server logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or send it to you in a portable form. You can also object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests. To do any of these, email alan@loopfound.com. It's free, and we'll normally reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's regulator, at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
If the way we handle data changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
